Foxy Valentine

Inspired by this valentine, and driven by my love of foxes, I set out to make my own version.

Well...it's not quite as cute. Thankfully, I don't think the recipient will be picky.

Clever Wrapping

My brother likes to buy cheap book at the thrift store. He then hollows them out and stores things inside. He gives me all of the pages. =)

I wrapped a shoebox with the pages, tied string around it, and added a crocheted snowflake. Easy and cute!

Our Easter Eggs

Our favorite way to get cool designs on our Easter eggs? Crayons.

Simply draw on the egg before dipping it into the dye. The coolest look is to draw on the egg with a white crayon.

How do you decorate your eggs?

Pink Decorations

Cut out hearts, from felt, and sew them all together to make a lovely garland. You could use different shapes for different holidays.

I also made a garland to hand around our light fixture- and gluing candy canes together makes perfect hearts!

These Valentine decorations are late, I know. But you can keep them in mind for next year!

I have been busy crocheting

scarves.

Just in time to sell them for Christmas!

To make my scarves, I simply chain as wide as I want, and single crochet until it is as long as I want. Then, single crochet around the sides of the scarf, and weave in ends!

Peanut Butter Eggs For Easter

Mom and I made this cute peanut butter filled eggs to use as place cards on Easter.

First, the filling must be mixed up.

Filling
1 sleeve graham crackers, finely crushed
1 cup extra chunky peanut butter
1 stick butter or margarine
1/2 pound (8 oz.) powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

You can refrigerate the filling for up to six months.
After the filling was made, we took egg shaped molds, and coated them with melted Almond Bark. We set the molds in the refrigerator and let the chocolate harden. After the chocolate is harden, you can spoon the filling mixture into the eggs, pressing down firmly, but not hard enough to crack the egg. Then, spoon more chocolate on top of the filling and refrigerate to harden. Once the chocolate is hard, you have a cute peanut butter egg! Mom decorated ours with royal icing pansies, but you could use butter-cream icing too.
Dad picked our egg molds up on his way home from work. The store was out of Easter egg molds. I think that these look like Dinosaur Eggs! but the icing made them look pretty.!

Pretty Paper

Do you hate how store bought paper is always perfect? I mean, when you buy polka-dot paper, the dots are always perfectly lined up, and nothing is ever random. If you have wrapping woes, brighten up your gifts with some homemade paper!
Starting with plain white paper, here are a few ideas:

•Use rubber stamps to make a pretty design
•Scribble all over it with different colors (trust me, it actually looks very cool)
•Use a needle to pierce patterns in it
•dip the end of a paper towel tube in paint and print circles all over the paper
•Place stickers all over it
The possibilities are endless. If you are out of white paper, newspaper looks very unique too.

This paper was made with rubber stamps.

You can use these same ideas to make note cards!

Don't contain these ideas to Christmas only. Vary them to make paper and cards all year long!
